Regional Policy & Protocol Guidance

Refund Guidance

The Refund Policy & Protocols provides for refunds with little guidance for when refunds are approved. This information provides further guidance on refunds based on common sense and practical matters:

  • The AYSO National Fee is not refundable.
  • For the Core Program seasons (Fall, Winter, and Spring), we will issue a full refund of the program fee as long as the uniform issued to your child has not been worn and up to a week prior to the start of the season.
  • A partial refund may be considered during the week leading up to the first game of the season and the week leading up to the second game of the season if the division is full and we can replace your child with a player from the wait list.
  • Partial refund requests for the Fall Extra, Winter All-stars, and Spring Select programs are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Player Transfers Guidance

From time-to-time, the division commissioner or Regional Commissioner receives a request to transfer a player to a different team. The following explains the guidelines we use when considering player transfer requests:

  • Player transfers requests usually require two transfers to maintain maximum roster sizes or team balancing.
  • Player transfers require 4 approvals: 1 & 2) The coaches for both teams impacted by the transfers; 3) A parent or guardian of the player swapping teams with your child; and, 4) The Regional Commissioner. No transfer if any of these 4 players rejects the request (and no explanation or justification for rejecting the request is required or necessary).
  • Both players being swapped between teams must be of the same or similar rating if the transfer request is for a player in the 10U, 12U, or 14U divisions.
