AYSO Region 0144 - South Irvine, California

Overview of the AYSO Region 144 All-star Program

Overview

The Winter All Star season is a short (4-weeks) season which is played during January and against the other Regions' All Star teams in Area Q: Corona del Mar (Region 57), Tustin (Region 96), Newport Beach (Region 97), Costa Mesa (Region 120), North Irvine (Region 213), and Yorba Linda (Region 1398).

Here are details for Region 144 for the 2018-2019 season:

  • Players are nominated by their coach and/or referees during the season.
  • Nominated players pre-register for the tryouts which are usually held in late October or Early November. For the 2018-2019 season, tryouts will be held on November 5 and 6.
  • Parents will receive an email invitation for the team (or an email indicating they didn't make the team).
  • Parents are given 3 days to decide to accept or decline the invitation.
  • Accepting the invitation also means they can complete registration for their child to be on the Winter All Star team.
  • The cost for the All Star program is $110 and includes the new uniform kit consisting of: home jersey, away jersey, shorts, and 2 pairs of socks.
  • The practices are twice a week and can be up to 1.5 hours each. There are usually 2 games - one in the morning and one in the afternoon - each Saturday.

Pre-registration & registration overview

  • The first step is pre-registration for the tryout. Every player being considered and showing up at the tryouts MUST pre-register for the program.
  • Player selections are made after the tryout by an independent review panel.
  • Selected players will receive an invitation to join the team.
    • Parents have three (3) days to accept or decline the invitation. If you do not accept within three (3) days, then the offer will be retracted and an invitation is sent to the next player on the list.
    • If you decline the offer, then an invitation is sent to the next player on the list.
    • If you accept the offer, then you must complete their registration.
  • The process of sending out offers and waiting for parents to accept or decline can take several days. Your child is still being considered for the team as long as you don't receive a "Didn't make the team" email. The "Didn't make the team" email is your official notification that your child will not get an invitation to the All Star team this year.
  • All questions about the registration process need to go to the registrar at [email protected]
