A great AYSO organization is one that delivers - over a long period of time - superior quality and has a distinctive impact on the lives of people. And, it takes a group of dedicated volunteers to ensure AYSO Region 144 continues the tradition of delivering the best youth sports program in South Irvine. Here is how you can help:

• Everyone with a willingness to learn and gives their best effort will find a place which will benefit the program. In most cases, no specialty knowledge is required. For example, we need a Referee Administrator. Conventional wisdom says that the Referee Administrator should be an experienced and certified referee. Yet, this is not true! Some of the best Referee Administrators are not referees. Furthermore, AYSO has training and certification programs for nearly every job being performed in the Region.
• Required Regional Board Positions - Every Region must have someone in each of the following roles: Regional Commissioner, Regional Referee Administrator, Regional Coach Administrator, Treasurer, Safety Director, Auditor, and Child-Volunteer Protection Advocate. Unfortunately, Region 144 has openings for the following required positions:
  • Regional Referee Administrator
  • Safety Director
  • Auditor
• Operating the Region also requires staff to perform a large number of roles. Here are some examples of areas where one person or a small group of people could perform an important role in the operation of the Region:

    • Marketing & Communications
    • Secretary/Administrator
  • Referee Staff
    • Referee Mentoring Program Administrator
    • Youth Referee Program Administrator
    • Referee Instruction and Training
  • Coaching Staff
    • Coach Mentoring Program Administrator
    • Coach Instruction and Training
  • Program administrators for the following programs:
    • Playground (4U)
    • Schoolyard (5U)
    • Younger Divisions (6U & 8U) Programs plus division commissioners for each division/gender
    • Older Divisions (10U, 12U, 14U) Programs plus division commissioners for each division/gender
    • Section 11 16U/19U Programs
    • City of Irvine Mayor's Cup
    • Area 11-Q League Playoffs
    • All Stars
    • Area 11-Q Spring Select
