South Irvine Fall 2018 EXTRA program tryout pre-registration

Players must be pre-registered prior to attending the tryouts.

Returning Registration - If you registered your child to play AYSO soccer last year, then you have a Blue Sombrero master account. Click on the Login button on the website home page. Once logged in, click on each child to begin the tryout pre-registration for the Fall EXTRA program. You should see two programs for each child: Fall Core and Fall EXTRA.  Please make sure you are selecting the Fall EXTRA program. If you are having problems or forget what you did last year, then read through the Blue Sombrero Online Registration Instructions located by clicking: HERE

First Time - If this is the first time you have registered for AYSO soccer, then you should know that there are several steps you will be performing. Start by clicking on the large "Register Now" button in the upper right corner of the www.AYSO144.org website home page.

The best source is the Blue Sombrero Online Registration Instructions located by clicking: HERE. Here are the highlights:

  • The first step is to create a master account. It is one master account per family where all players and volunteers will be managed.
  • The second step is to create user accounts for spouses, partners or guardians. Each one will have access to the master account and use their login to manage their volunteer roles.
  • The third step is to add each child (as a "participant") to the master account.
  • The next step is to pre-register each child for the tryout for a specific EXTRA program age/gender division.  You should only see one age/division option under the Fall 2019 EXTRA program which is based upon the year your child was born. In general:
    • Born in 2010 or 2011 => 10U division Fall 2018 Extra program tryouts
    • Born in 2008 or 2009 => 12U division Fall 2018 Extra program tryouts
    • Born in 2006 or 2007 => 14U division Fall 2018 Extra program tryouts
  • Lastly, you need to check out to complete the pre-registration. Completion includes an eSignature on the release of liability form. If you didn't see this step, then go back and make sure you complete this step by signing the form digitally. .

Registration Process Overview

The Blue Sombrero tryout based registration process works well and will be used to administer tryouts, invitations/rejections, team formation, etc. In general, the process looks like this:

  • Each player needs to be registered in Blue Sombrero for the tryout. See the instructions above.
  • Parents will begin receiving invitations for their child to join the team via email sent from an @BlueSombrero.com account (thus, make sure it does not go to your junk/spam filter.
  • You can accept the invitation and complete registration. Or you can decline and the process ends.
  • If the team is full and your child was not invited to join, then you will receive an email indicating your child will not receive an invitation and to remind you to register them for the Fall Core program.
