AYSO has a program for every age and stage of life. And, all are governed by the Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. 2019 Membership Year (August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020) Division Table

Use the following table to determine what division your child will play in during the 2018 Membership Year. The 2018 Membership Year includes the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons -- from August 1, 2018 until July 31, 2019.

A number of parents ask about allowing their child to play "up" or "down" a division. Players cannot play "down" a division. Players being considered for playing "up" a division must be evaluated. In most cases, players are also not going to play "up" a division either.

AYSO Region 144 Programs

AYSO Playground Soccer program

Beginner	3-4 years old

The AYSO Playground Soccer program is a child development program specially designed for 3-4 years old children. Join in the fun and nurture your child as they begin to grow.

The Playground program is offered during the Fall and Spring seasons.

AYSO Schoolyard Jamboree program

The AYSO Schoolyard Jamboree program extends the AYSO Playground Soccer program by introducing gameplay in a low-pressure, unstructured soccer environment.

The Schoolyard Jamboree program is offered during the Fall and Spring seasons.

AYSO Core program

The AYSO Core program is AYSO's standard program open to players of all ages and skill level (except VIP).

The Core program is offered during the Fall and Spring seasons. AYSO Region 144 does offer a very unique Winter season Core program that is defined differently from the standard AYSO Core program.

AYSO Fall season Flex EXTRA program

The AYSO Fall season Flex EXTRA program offers a more serious level of soccer for AYSO players who have the interest and the abilities. Although players are more advanced, the AYSO Flex EXTRA program follows the same core values as the other programs and embraces the AYSO's Six Philosophies.

AYSO Flex 16U and 18U program

The AYSO Flex 16U and 18U programs offer players who "graduated" from the AYSO Core & EXTRA programs a chance to continue playing.
Note: The Region might not have enough interest to form it's own team. We highly recommend getting in touch with other nearby Area 11-Q Regions -- such as Corona del Mar (Region 57), Newport Beach (97), Costa Mesa (120), North Irvine (213), or Tustin (96) -- to see if they will be forming a 16U or 18U team.

AYSO South Irvine Academy

Intermediate	9-14 years old

The AYSO South Irvine Academy offers Fall season Core program players who have an interest in seeing if they can play at a more advanced level. It is an AYSO Region 144 Flex EXTRA program using a jamboree style training session followed by small-sided games. The primary goal of the South Irvine Academy is player development for players interested in Winter All Stars and trying out for next year's Fall Flex EXTRA or AYSO United teams.

AYSO Winter All Stars & Area 11-Q Spring-at-the-Q Programs

Intermediate	9-14 years old

The AYSO Winter All Stars is a tryout based program for Fall season Core program 10U (born 2009 or 2010), 12U (born 2007 or 2008), and/or 14U (born 2005 or 2006) players a chance to represent AYSO Region 144 against other Area 11-Q Regions in a tournament style game circuit. Players are nominated for the tryout, attend two (2) tryout sessions, and may receive an invited to register for the All Star team.
The AYSO Area 11-Q Spring-at-the-Q (Spring Select) program is a coach invite program for 10U (born 2009 or 2010), 12U (born 2007 or 2008), and/or 14U (born 2005 or 2006) players. Teams represent AYSO Region 144 against other Area 11-Q Regions in an approximate 8-weeks game circuit.
